Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services, and EarthCheck, the world’s leading environmental management and professional service group, have once again teamed up to create a worksheet to help improve sustainability within the Asia-Pacific hospitality industry. The two organizations recently introduced EnergyCheck™, a worksheet to help hotel operators to improve energy efficiency.
The EnergyCheck™ worksheet provides valuable tools and insights on energy consumption within the Asia-Pacific hospitality industry. It also includes energy conservation guidance for management, staff and guests, and an energy audit checklist to identify strengths and potential risks in operations to help hotel operators develop energy savings action plans based on the results.
“In 2005, the World Travel and Tourism Council announced a goal to decrease global hotel energy consumption by 50 percent by 2035, a difficult goal to achieve as inbound tourism continues to rise in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Dr. Raj Rajan, vice president of Research, Development & Engineering and global sustainability technical leader for Ecolab, and a contributor to the EnergyCheck™ worksheet. “With the EnergyCheck™ worksheet, hospitality businesses are able to pinpoint energy inefficiencies, and implement strategies to reduce consumption.”
EnergyCheck™ is the third worksheet collaboration between EarthCheck and Ecolab. It follows WaterCheck™, a tool that helps hotel operators improve water efficiency at individual properties, and HealthCheck™, which helps hotel operators address a range of potential health concerns within a property.
